Consider this Steuben icon, a signed, as new in vintage red leather box. A heavy block of fire polished cut and angled crystal magnifies and refracts the light into a rainbow pattern. It holds an eight inch solid sterling silver claymore style sword with the hilt wrapped in braided 18K gold marked for gold, sterling and the Steuben "S". An early creation of the famed Steuben designer, writer and outdoorsman, the late James Houston (famous for Arctic fisherman, Ice Hunter, Arctic Mother and Cub, Eagle on Globe, Trout and Fly, Trumpeting Elephant, Ice Bear, Polar Bear with Cub, Otter and many others)--a rare find in gift ready condition. Only the true king can remove the sword from the stone! 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide and approx. 4lbs, this Steuben Excalibur is crystal clear with no nicks, no chips, no scratches or signs of use to the glass and no display wear or scratches on the bottom. The crystal block is fully signed "steuben" in script. The letter opener sword has no monogram and does not look like it was placed in the crystal block.

This will be packed in it's excellent condition vintage red leather fitted box free of stains or odors with some minor signs of wear and storage. No fake "hidden reserve" to waste your time. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY. Steuben glass was frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries.
